EFTAL KÖKLÜ
He was born in Bursa in 1951. He graduated from the Saint Joseph French High School for Boys in Istanbul in 1970 and from the Department of Civil Engineering at METU (Middle East Technical University) in 1975.
In addition to the contracting services he carried out through his own company in Turkey, he served as a professional project and company manager, overseeing various building and infrastructure construction projects in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Morocco, Tunisia, and Georgia.
He served as Chairman of the Board for the Bodrum METU Alumni Association (BODTÜM) for two consecutive terms between 2018 and 2023, and for the Herodotus Third Age Academy (H3A) association for one term between 2022 and 2024.
He is an enthusiast of photography, jazz, and cinema. He is currently a member of the H3A Board of Directors and, for the past four years, has been regularly hosting annotated screenings of films selected from his personal archive as part of the “Sinematek H3A” activity group, which he founded within the association.
He is married to retired pharmacist Filiz Hanım and has a son and two granddaughters.
