Antalya Trip 19 April 2019

In the footsteps of Count Karl Graf Von Lanckoronski ” Pamphylia and Pisidia Cities ” we explored the geography of Panphylia, Pisidia and Lydia.

On the first day, passing through the ancient city walls, Alaaddin’s mosque equipped with grooved minarets and reused columns, Giyaseddin Madrasah, mothers of Yavuz Selim and Korkut and Nigar Hatun’s pilgrimage to Karatay Medrese and Hadrian After the satisfying introduction of our guide Canan Küçükeren, we dived into the castle. The old city is beautiful enough to be able to get around after a coordinated touch of a magic hand and to walk around. When we passed through the narrow streets of the Hıdırlık Tower and the park, the Bey Mountains on the opposite bank of the Gulf appeared in the table view. We embraced this insatiable view by emptying a few beer glasses.

We heartily congratulate those who have contributed to the renewal of old Antalya  and hope that the same will happen to our Mausoleum, Walls,  houses and towers that are bent on the streets of Bodrum waiting to be rescued.

At the museum of Antalya we see Tired Herakles, Plancia Magna’s envy of the goddesses, the sarcophagus hall, the hall of Karain cave, which had hosted local people from 500,000 years ago to the Roman era, and the other prehistoric period, visited the Hall of Gods-Goddesses, Emperors-Emperors’ Hall, then rush to Perge.. At the city entrance, we visit  the great tomb of the Great Plancia Magna, the Roman and Hellenistic gates, the northern and southern baths competing with the splendor of the Roman baths, the showy Agora, the colonnated avenues, the fountains, the arena and the theater then after a lunch snack we leave to Aspendos. The magnificent theater, the Agora on top of the Acropolis, the huge Basilica, the Monumental fountain, the Nymphaeum, the stadium, the Gymnasium and the 17-kilometer long Aqueduck, are worth a visit. After the delight of the Manavgat Waterfalls we return to  dinner.

Early next day we arrive to Limyra after an agreeable ride on the Heavenly way between Antalya and Finike. With its five large necropolises, it has 40% of the tomb monuments of all Lykya.
