For many years, Bodrum has been promoted primarily for its sea, sand, and sun tourism. Unfortunately, the region’s rich cultural heritage and its potential to extend tourism throughout the entire year often remain in the background.
With its historical structures, museums, ancient cities, and archaeological sites, Bodrum offers significant value in terms of cultural tourism.
Highlighting Bodrum’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage to create year-round tourism activity is an important step toward the region’s sustainable development. In this regard, we present our suggestions on how cultural tourism can be developed more effectively in Bodrum and the steps that need to be taken in this area.
