Cüneyt Karaloğlu and Mehmet Uyargil will present their documentary “The Towers of the Kaf (Caucasus) mountain” on Thursday, 19 December, 2019 at 15:00 at the Karia Hotel (previously Karia Princess Hotel) .
Here is the story of the documentary …
It started in July 2015 with Cüneyt’s trip to Georgia’s Mestia town. When Cüneyt showed Mehmet the photos and videos he took, the decision was made to produce the documentary. Ayşe Özalp joined this project too.
The documentary depicts the magnificent beauty of the Caucasus mountains with the image of Kafdağı, the symbol of beyond the inaccessible, which makes fairy tale connotations in the memories of the societies in the nearby geographies.
In addition to the characteristic visual contribution of the original towers of the Svaneti region of Georgia, Mestia, Uşguli and the surrounding settlements are also shown with visuals as a living museum that maintains its traditions and traditions.
Ethnography of the region is also commented along with the cultural richness of this geography which has affected the Eurasian continent with its legends throughout human history

2015 yılının Temmuz ayında Cüneyt’ in Gürcistan’ ın Mestia kasabasına yaptığı gezi ile başladı ‘’Kaf Dağının Kuleleri’’ nin hikayesi. Cüneyt, Mehmet’ e çektiği fotoğraf ve videoları gösterdiğinde, karar verilmişti; eylül ayında çekimlere Svaneti’ye gidilecek ve bölgenin bir belgesel çalışması yapılacaktı. Ani bir karar ile Ayşe Özalp de katıldı bu projeye.
Bu belgeselimizde, yakın coğrafyalardaki toplumların belleklerinde,masalsı çağrışımlar yapan ulaşılmaz ötenin simgesi Kafdağı imgesiyle, Kafkas dağlarının görkemli güzelliği anlatılmakta.
Gürcistan’ın Svaneti bölgesinin özgün kuleleri ve kulelerinin karakteristik görsel katkısı yanı sıra,töre ve geleneklerini sürdürerek yaşayan bir müze kent niteliği taşıyan Mestia,Uşguli ve civar yerleşimleri görseller ile paylaşılmakta.
İnsanlık tarihi boyunca efsaneleriyle Avrasya kıtasını etkilemiş olan bu coğrafyanın kültürel zenginliği ile birlikte bölgenin etnoğrafik değerlerine de değinilmekte.
